National Marine Rating of Ukraine award ceremony took place in Odessa on March 24, 2011, in which the freight forwarding unit of Metinvest, Skif-Shipping, took the first place in the nominations of Forwarding Agent of the Year and Marine Agent by performance in as of 2010. 70 experts of the sector were involved in the rating assessment.
The winners in the Forwarding Agent of the Year nomination were identified among the companies forwarding freights via the merchant sea ports and other transshipment complexes of Ukraine. Annual volume served as the leadership criterion. Metinvest’s Skif Shipping was by 2.9 ahead of the second place winner in this nomination, having forwarded cargo through the ports and terminals of Ukraine in the amount of 13 356 thous. t as of 2010.
The winders in the Marine Agent nomination were identified among the marine agent companies on the basis of the highest number of self-propelled ships served in the state ports and at the berths of other transshipment terminals of Ukraine as of 2010, when Metinvest’s Skif-Shipping served 838 ships.
It is not the first year, when Skif-Shipping takes the leading rank in the National Marine Rating of Ukraine, being the first in the Forwarding Agent of the Year nomination. This year the Company has become the absolute winner in two nominations.

National Marine Rating is an event conducted by the Ports of Ukraine Magazine, training and analytical center «BlackSeaTrans» supported the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Specialized associations, such as the Association of Ukrainian Ports «Ukrport», Association of the International Forwarding Agents of Ukraine, Association of Maritime Agents of Ukraine and the International Association of Ship owners of the Black Sea and Azov Basin (BINSA) established a number of nominations for the best state-owned ports, stevedoring companies, marine agents, forwarding agents, shipping companies, and etc.
