Metinvest, an international vertically integrated group of metals and mining companies has been recognized as the leader of rating «ГVардия of socially responsible companies» confirming the leading status in the field of corporate social responsibility in Ukraine.
Metinvest was ranked highest meaning that the company provided comprehensive information about implementation of CSR projects, carried out transparent and systemic activities, integrates CSR into business-planning and the strategy in general.
During the first six months of 2011 Ukrainian enterprises of Metinvest also paid UAH 5.3 bln. of taxes and levies, including the single social contribution – UAH 919.7 mln. All payments are performed on time, in full, and correspond to the principle of transparent and responsible business practices. Metinvest Group carries out its operations fully compliant with the legislation currently in force being an exemplary tax payer.
In 2011 Metinvest was ranked one of the five in the transparency and accountability rating in Ukraine. «Heavy industry».
Improving the living standards and quality of life of people of the company’s areas of presence is an important component of the social policy. Metinvest, being a responsible corporate citizen, assures the best health, safety and environment standards, along with social support and development of employees, follows up on quality and efficiency of social investments.
In addition to the general indicators in the Rating, special attention was paid to accessibility of the information, as well as systemic actions of the companies in the field of CSR, including stakeholder relations.

Project «ГVардия of socially responsible companies» is implemented since 2008 by Gvardia rating magazine of the Publishing House «Galickie Kontrakty». The goal of the project – to raise the status of corporate social responsibility in Ukrainian business, expand the practices and motivate a systemic approach to CSR. The rating was initiated within the frames of the UNITER project, which is implemented by Pact international organization under USAID financing and support from ESG. 100 largest Ukrainian companies participated in the rating, as well as the companies, whose shares are listed in the international stock exchanges
