Metinvest Group allocated over UAH 2.6 million to 4,300 first-year school children as part of its “First Time – First Grade” project. The money was spent to purchase school supplies and assist the parent-employees of the Group’s enterprises.
Metinvest Group’s management company and 20 enterprises participated in the project. Six enterprises participated in the project for the first time this year.
Zaporizhstal and Mariupol Ilyich Steel allocated the most for the children of its employees. These enterprises together allocated over one million hryvnias to help 2,000 first-year children prepare for school.
Yenakiieve Steel purchased school supplies for around 200 children of its employees and the employees of its Makiivka branch for a total of over UAH 110,000.
Khartsyzsk Pipe’s project involved not only the children of its employees, but also children from its youth football school, the city orphanage and from low-income multi-child families. The enterprise spent UAH 72,000 on 150 first-year students. It also provided UAH 28,000 in material assistance to low-income employees to help their children prepare for school.
Northern GOK, Central GOK, and Ingulets GOK together allocated around UAH 390,000 to purchase school supplies for more than 700 children.
All children involved in the project will receive backpacks with school supplies (each kit includes notebooks, pen cases, journals, colored pencils, a ruler, an eraser, a pencil sharpener and more). Ceremonies to present the school kits will take place in the second half of August in Donetsk, Yenakiieve, Avdiivka, Khartsyzsk, Zaporizhya, Kriviy Rih, Krasnodon, Mariupol, and Komsomolsk.
