Metinvest Group's Metinvest-PromService, LLC started accepting orders to maintain and repair metallurgical equipment on June 1.
Metinvest-PromService, LLC offers a full range of maintenance and repair services for metallurgical units. The company specializes in complex maintenance and repair services for steelmaking and industrial engineering facilities - from assembly and installation to the startup and commissioning of metallurgical equipment. The company's technical base allows for high-quality repairs of mechanical equipment, and repairs and preparation of electric & energy equipment and steel structures.
PromService is participating in the reconstruction of the sinter plant at Metinvest Group's Ilyich Iron & Steel Works of Mariupol, the largest environmental project in the history of independent Ukraine. The company's repair specialists are checking the assembly of structures for a new generation of Italian Hurriclone cyclones and preparing equipment for installation.
PromService was created at the initiative of Metinvest Group as a base for the repair functions of Ilyich Iron & Steel Works of Mariupol, Azovstal and Yenakiieve Steel in accordance with international best practices. The integration of previously separate services into one structure will reduce losses related to manufacturing processes, improve the planning and labour organization system and increase the quality of repairs. The company will invest nearly $2.5 million to develop and modernize its production facilities. Repair personnel are continuing to be transferred to Metinvest-PromService, LLC. Metinvest Group made a decision to maintain jobs and social benefits during the reorganization.
The effectiveness of this reorganization strategy was shown during the creation of the Mariupol Maintenance & Repair Plant, which is Metinvest Group's specialized business for manufacturing and repairing spare parts, units, steel structures and interchangeable equipment for its steelmaking enterprises.
This type of reorganization is a common practice internationally. Major global steel companies have in-house stand-alone service subdivisions and repair enterprises with highly skilled staff and state-of-the-art technology.
Mikhail Rubtsov, Metinvest-PromService, LLC general director:
"PromService will enable the enterprises in Metinvest Group's Metallurgical Division to stop using contractors' services during major overhauls and current long-term repairs at their facilities. Today this is our main task, together with improving quality and reducing repair budgets. In the future, we will be ready to perform maintenance services not only to Metinvest's enterprises and expand into sales markets."
