On the eve of the Metallurgists’ and Miners’ Day, Metinvest Group sends its greetings to all industry employees.
This year, the company organizes special events in Mariupol, Zaporozhye and Krivoy Rog. These cities will traditionally hold dynasty parades. There will also be a teleconference involving senior management of enterprises and the headquarters. Various sports competitions, contests for children and concerts by Ukrainian show business will be offered to steel makers and miners.
Despite the difficulties in the domestic economy, metals and mining industry of Ukraine has all reasons to be proud. Being the main currency revenue supplier into the country, the industry provides for a quarter of industrial production and national export.
Taking the lead in the Ukrainian metals and mining industry, Metinvest Group continues to invest in the upgrade of its operations to make them more efficient and environmentally friendly. In the last year alone, Azovstal completed major overhaul of blast furnace no. 4. Zaporozhstal and Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol hold large-scale revamps of their sinter plants. This weekend the Group launches the first line of the crusher and conveyor system at SevGOK in Krivoy Rog.
Metinvest also helps the areas, where manufacturing sites of the Group are located. Like in previous years, social projects will be focused on the improvement of the quality of life and help address the most vital infrastructure issues in the cities where the company has its operations.
