Metinvest Group became a special partner of the 13th Annual Yalta European Strategy (YES) Forum. According to experts, YES is the most influential platform of public diplomacy in the Eastern Europe.
The support of the forum has become another stage of the company’s social responsibility program. Its activities are mainly focused on the cities where the Group operates. Social partnership programs between Metinvest Group and the cities have been implemented since 2010. Over UAH 700 million have been invested in these projects.
Being the largest company in Ukraine according to the ranking by the international audit company Deloitte in 2015, Metinvest cannot stand by but address the most vital issues of Ukraine’s development and its economy on the national level. This is the reason the Group decided to support the 13th Annual YES meeting.
A special place in forum discussions will be given to the situation in Ukraine, namely, economic transformations in the country, and the barriers. About 350 prominent politicians, diplomats, business representatives and experts from 20 countries of the world will take part in the work of the forum. Among them are the President and the Prime Minister of Ukraine, respected politicians from different countries, senior managers of the largest international and Ukrainian companies, analysts and internationally renowned researchers.

- The YES conference is a discussion platform, where Ukraine’s development paths are defined, new views of domestic and world issues are shaped, and solutions are offered. The focus is primarily on the economy. Mining and metals industry, which I represent, is one the of the pillars of Ukraine’s economy. Annually, the taxes we pay amount to dozens of billions of hryvnia accounting for a third of all foreign exchange earnings in the country. The industry employs 300 thousand people. Enterprises of Metinvest Group alone employ over 100 thousand people. Therefore, representatives of mining and metals industry are full participants in discussions about Ukraine and its economy.
The 13th Annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy is held on September 15-17, 2016 at Mystetsky Arsenal National Art and Museum Center.
